Need free legal advice?

The AUU provides free legal advice with qualified lawyers through the Community Legal Service every Tuesday between 12pm and 3pm.

Call 8303 5401 or email auu@adelaide.edu.au for more information or to make an appointment.

Students can also access the Magistrates Court Legal Advice Service for minor civil claims under $6000 (contracts, motor vehicle accidents, fencing disputes, debt recovery). However, they do not handle criminal or administrative law claims (eg speeding, DUI, Centrelink). The service is available at the Holden Hill and Adelaide Magistrates Courts and is staffed by law students and supervised by legal practitioners. Find out more by calling 08 8204 2444.

All Centrelink appeals and internal University of Adelaide appeals should still be directed to the Education and Welfare Officers at Student Care (via 8303 5430 or studentcare@adelaide.edu.au).
