2010 National Youth Summit

The first tertiary conference organised by the United Nations Youth Association - 29 Sept to 2 Oct 2010

Held at the University of Technology, Sydney from Wednesday 29th September to Saturday 2nd October, the theme of NYS is "Human Rights" and will encompass four issues - Conflict, Gender Inequality, Good Governance and Minorities (Aboriginal Rights).

The principle aim of forum and debate is to develop a Youth Declaration, an evaluation of current national policies, which will be presented at the end of the week. Some of many guest speakers include Gareth Evans (Attorney-General 1983-84, Minister of Foreign Affairs 1988-96), Julie McKay (Executive Director, UNIFEM) and Samah Hadid (Australia's Youth Ambassador to the United Nations 2010).
