The EWOs at the Student Care Office provide vital assistance to students who may need some assistance with the complexities of student life.
The EWOs are your first point of contact for:
- Financial Assistance including emergency loans
- Advice and advocacy
- Counselling - academic, personal and financial
- Information and referral
- Taxation advice
- Centrelink and legal advice
This service is confidential and professional - our EWOs have wide experience in University culture, systems and policy, as well as dealings with external agencies (e.g. Centrelink, Residential Tribunal, welfare and rights bodies, and utilities providers).
The Student Care Office is located on the Ground Floor Lady Symon Building and is open Monday - Friday, 9am to 5pm for drop-in, or you can make an appointment by calling

Student Grievance Resolution Process
The Student Complaints Policy and the Fair Treatment Procedures for Students have been superseded by the new Student Grievance Resolution Process. If you have a grievance about academic decisions, administrative decisions, or unfair treatment, please read the new grievance processes, which explain the stages that you should follow should you wish to resolve your complaint. If you decide that you need support and/or advocacy, please contact the Education & Welfare Officers.
