The Employment Service

Adelaide University Union Employment Service aims to provide expert, up-to-date employment assistance and information to students of Adelaide University in a friendly and professional manner.

Our services for students include

Employment Service job database advertising current employment & volunteering vacancies
a range of employment development and work preparation seminars and workshops
casual employment resume and cover letter review
advice and assistance with work related issues i.e. pay, tax and super.

Service Eligibility

Currently enrolled students and recent graduates (graduating within the past 12 months) are eligible for all services. Recent graduates and alumni more than 12 months out have ongoing access to Career Services via Career Hub email them on careers@adelaide.edu.au.

Resources for alumni

The University of Adelaide's Alumni Relations Program offers graduates a great range of services, including events, programs and career articles.

Salary: $25 - $35 per hour

Promotional Staff Required for weekly assignments, NO Selling involved - represent a National Brand. Businesstel runs week long promo drives on a monthly basis. They involve promotion of Optus' SMB products/offers to businesses in industrial estates.

BusinessTel is a long standing, National Optus Business Partner that has recently undertaken an aggressive expansion strategy.

In line with our mission of becoming Australia's leading distributor of SMB telecommunication products and services, the company runs week long promotional drives in heavily populated business districts.

The week long assignment involves the following:

While assigned to a Sales Representative visit designated businesses to promote Optus' range of products and services.
Arrange business registrations to BusinessTel's quarterly tech updates and entry into the current competition.
Arrange obligation free telecommunication audits for the assigned Sales Representative.

You need to possess the following qualities:

Ability to promote the products and services with a sense of fun and enthusiasm, and in a professional manner.
Excellent appearance and presentation that is suited to the business market.
Excellent communication skills.
Be results orientated

In return we will provide:

Base hourly rate and excellent incentives.
An opportunity to be involved in regular monthly promotions.
Transport to and from the promo areas.
Uniforms (must have own black pants and black shoes).
Training and in-field support.
