The Adelaide University Law Students' Society (AULSS) is here to make sure your years in the Adelaide Law School are some of the best years of your student life. Membership with the AULSS is free and automatic if you are enrolled in a Law degree. The AULSS has portfolios in Education, Careers, Competitions, Activities and Social Justice. We also have more specific Officers to provide support, such as an Equity and Wellbeing Officer, Indigenous Officer and Mature Aged Officer. Our Education Portfolio provides support within the Law School and runs morning teas and skills development sessions to help you with your study skills. The Careers Portfolio adds to this by facilitating opportunities for your future options and life beyond university. The Competitions Portfolio runs a variety of competitions including Moots, Witness Examinations, Client Interviews and Negotiations to help you develop your practical legal skills which will benefit you in the profession.
Events: The Activities Portfolio organises all the fun social events of the year. Keep an eye out for 'Sue Me' Opening Party and First Year Drinks early in the year, and the famous Law Ball towards the end of Semester 1. Semester 2 is filled with Quiz Night, Law Dinner and 'Acquit Me' Closing Party. Our Social Justice Portfolio runs fundraising events throughout the year for different charities and legal services. Social Justice organises the fundraising for the ‘Walk for Justice’ which we participate in alongside law firms. We hope the AULSS will complement your studies by facilitating extra-curricular activities and social events for you to enjoy. We wish you the very best for your studies and are here to assist you in any way.
