Hike: Morialta First Falls
Distance: 1.7km return
Time: 45 minutes
Morialta Conservation Park is one of Adelaide’s most popular parks, and this trail goes right down into the gorge, with plenty of cliffs and waterfalls to enjoy along the way. Knit your own Harry Potter scarf
There’s something wonderfully preppy and fantastical about a Harry Potter Scarf, or more accurately, a Hogwarts House Scarf.
Knit in 1×1 rib with affordable acrylic yarn, this scarf is great for beginner knitters looking for a new challenge beyond garter stitch.
With a slipped selvedge edge and a slightly narrow width, this Hogwarts scarf is sleek and modern. Make it a part of your everyday wardrobe or use it as the finishing touch in your Hogwarts cosplay.
Go to the zoo
Adelaide Zoo, one of Adelaide’s most iconic attractions, is home to more than 2,500 animals and 250 species of exotic and native mammals, birds, reptiles and fish exhibited over eight hectares of magnificent botanic surroundings.
It is the second oldest zoo in the nation and represents a significant part of South Australia’s heritage and social history. Since Adelaide Zoo first opened to the public in 1883, generations of South Australians have shared in the wonder of a visit to the zoo.
It’s a relaxing green city oasis and vibrant sanctuary that gives you the feeling of stepping into another world. It’s full of diversity, colour and unique things to see and do. It offers an intimate zoo experience speckled with elements of curiosity, fantasy, fun and surprise.

Check out the Mt Lofty botanic garden
No matter if you’re a botanical novice or a plant expert, you’ll be fascinated and intrigued by the amazing floral diversity and dramatic hillside setting of Mount Lofty Botanic Garden.
Hike: Tea Tree Gully to Mt Lofty adventure trail
Distance: 10km return
Time: 3 hours
This hike provides an alternative route to Mt Lofty Summit from Waterfall Gully. The trail leaves the main Waterfall Gully to Mount Lofty trail between First and Second Falls and rejoins just below the Youth Hostel. Much of the trail is on wide fire track, so can be suitable for large groups. Some sections are steep. Higher up enjoy the forests as the fire track follows the ridges up Chinamans Hut Track.
