Do you believe in Rehabilitation and Reintegration? Would you like to be part of a program that is successful in reducing the recidivism of sex offenders? Are you able to commit for a year? If you answered yes to these questions, this might be the challenge you were looking for.

Offenders Aid and Rehabilitation Services (OARS) Community Transitions is recruiting volunteers for the Circle of Support and Accountability (COSA) program.

COSA aims to substantially reduce the risk of future sexual victimization by supporting people convicted of sexual offences as they re-enter the community and lead responsible, productive, and accountable lives.

Circle member volunteers work in teams with a Core Member and are supported by an Outer Circle of professionals. Circles meet regularly to provide support to the Core Member as they begin to lead a responsible, productive and accountable life while working on reintegration into the community. This may include: finding housing, employment, transportation, medical assistance, mental/chemical health care, friendship, and acceptance.

We are looking for non-judgemental and approachable people, who are able to establish good rapport whilst maintaining professional boundaries. We welcome applicants from different walks of life who possess a good range of life skills and bring a mature and responsible outlook towards life.

You need to be available to attend a weekly meeting (week days or weekends) and be keen to commit for one year as the success of this program is based on the quality of the relationship.

We offer training and ongoing debriefing sessions.
