Hey, my name is Grace and I’m running for AUU Board Director with UNITE.

As a rural, female, college student, I bring a fresh perspective to the issues that face the Board. After moving to Adelaide from Port Lincoln for Uni, I was faced with the difficulties of moving away from home. I was isolated from my family and had to make new connections in the city. I want to help create a space for all students to feel welcome and belong.

I will advocate for the interest of women, LGBTQIA+ students, rural and international students, and clubs. I will work towards creating a safe and fun campus for all students. I will do this by advocating for good governance, more transparency from the AUU and promoting clubs and a healthy campus culture.

Over the last few years, we’ve seen an AUU which holds more secret meetings than open ones, blocked women from having clubs around womens issues, doesn’t take an active lead on restoring campus culture, and rolls over to the University when they try to merge faculties, cut courses and staff. I want to change this.
