Marilee Hou

Hello, my name is Marilee and I’m running to be your SRC Ethno-Cultural officer with UNITE.

I’m running because I believe in a strong student representative body. With many students still studying remotely, I want to ensure that students from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds feel supported and connected to the University. I will support our language and cultural clubs who play a crucial role in building and maintaining a vibrant and inclusive campus culture. As your representative, I will regularly consult with students to ensure that they are a part of discussions.

Over the last few years we’ve seen an SRC that has been more keen to stifle discussions than start them, exists as a mouthpiece for university management rather than students, constantly degrades its members and systematically prevents them from doing their jobs.

Unite is the genuine party of students. We believe in:

  • Promoting transparency and democracy within the AUU and SRC
  • Fighting against cuts, mergers and Proctor U
  • Building a vibrant campus culture through supporting clubs
  • Supporting vulnerable and minority groups on campus
  • Making campus safe for all students and staff

Be sure to vote for the entire UNITE team on the AUU and SRC!
