Hi! My name is Georgia Thomas and I’m running to be your Women’s Officer with UNITE.

I’m running because women at UoA still face unacceptable barriers to safety and proper representation. We deserve a Women’s Officer who will uplift women’s clubs and voices, and seek to tackle these issues. I want to be that Officer for you.

Over the last few years we’ve seen an AUU which holds more secret meetings than open ones, blocked women from having clubs on women's issues, doesn’t take an active lead on restoring campus culture, and rolls over to the University when they try to merge faculties, cut courses and staff.

We’ve seen an SRC that’s keener to stifle discussions than start them, exists as a mouthpiece for university management rather than students, constantly degrades its members and systematically prevents them from doing their jobs.

Unite is the genuine party of students. We believe in:

Promoting transparency and democracy within the AUU and SRC

Fighting against cuts, mergers and Proctor U

Building a vibrant campus culture through supporting clubs

Supporting vulnerable and minority groups on campus

Making campus safe for all students and staff
