Hi, I’m Matt and I'd like to represent you as Queer Officer for 2022.

I’m passionate about queer rights, services and support networks. It’s vital that the queer community is acknowledged, supported, welcomed and celebrated on our campus, ensuring the continued inclusivity of queer students and staff.

As a Non-Binary Student, I see the impact that gender binary based language, facilities and services has on Trans and Gender Diverse students every day. This is why I’d like to begin a campaign around true inclusivity of Trans and Gender Diverse students on campus, through things like truly gender neutral bathrooms across campus, instead of bathrooms for disabled students with a new sign slapped on them. I’d also like to begin the campaign for new and better queer dedicated spaces on campus, including a new rainbow room, a new George Duncan memorial and dedicated LGBTQIA+ services on campus to support queer students.

If elected, I aim to provide a voice for all queer students so that they receive an equitable opportunity to thrive on our campus, and attain educational success. As Queer Officer, I would be honoured to support this process.
