Hi, my name is Eddie Satchell, and I’m running to be your post-graduate (coursework) officer with UNITE.

In my day job, I'm a lawyer who represents workers ensuring their competing life commitments are accommodated in the workplace. I intend to bring this advocacy to the post-graduate (coursework) role, making sure the university is supportive of the various balancing obligations post-graduate students have whether that be internships, work, or family. I want to make sure the University is flexible in accommodating these commitments while also providing post-grad students the best educational experience and opportunities through their study at UoA.  

Since finishing my undergrad at UoA and returning for Masters, I have maintained my connection with the University through volunteering with the debating association and having served as the Secretary of the UoA Young Alumni Association.

Post-grad students actively choose to study at UoA because they know they will receive a good educational experience at a recognised institution. The University has suffered reputational damage recently and is making cuts to staff and services. We need to ensure the University is accountable and continues to provide quality and recognised educational outcomes.
