Our education is under attack. Vice Chancellor Peter Høj wants to sack 130 staff, merge faculties and cut courses. This means less course options, more pressure on already overworked staff, and worse education quality. Tutes and lectures are already glorified Youtube tutorials. Høj’s cuts will push uni even closer to a soulless degree factory. The VC isn’t on our side. He wants the university to run like the meanest profit-driven corporation.

The fight against corporate universities is linked to the fight for climate justice and against imperialism. Adelaide University has deep ties to weapons and fossil fuel companies. These should be cut immediately. The tried-and-tested way to stop attacks to our education is by mobilising in our hundreds, creating such a crisis for the uni administration that they’re forced to back down.

• Oppose all course cuts, staff cuts and faculty mergers 
• Make education free for all students, domestic and international 
• No YouTube Uni and second-rate discussion boards!
• Stand up for tutors by opposing wage theft and casualisation
