Hi! I'm Leila, I'm a socialist and a history student, and I'm running with Left Action for the position of General Councillor. This year Left Action has led the fight against the education cuts, built rallies for environmental action, campaigned for the release of the eleven refugees who were locked up in Adelaide, and much more. Left Action is made up of activists who believe that the union should be a fighting body, willing to stand up to university management and the Vice Chancellor. For too long, the SRC has sucked up to management, not wanting to cause a fuss. But now’s the time to fight.  The last two years we’ve seen the biggest attacks on staff and students at this University in decades. We need to stop the planned staff cuts and stop any further attacks on our quality of education, and the union needs to be at the head of that fight.
