Nature Play SA is a not-for-profit organisation that aims to empower the South Australian community to engage more children with nature through outdoor learning and play. To achieve this vision, we collaborate with partners, organisations and allied businesses to inspire the South Australian community to have the confidence, commitment, passion and enthusiasm needed to get their children and communities outside into nature.
Nature Play SA partners with Local Councils, State Government, and corporate partners to deliver nature play events through the SA community.
With a vision to connect children with nature through outdoor learning and play, we deliver events ranging from small school holiday programs to major partnership events for thousands of families.
Our popular major events include Nature Play Forest Festival, Cubby Town, and the Nature Play Festival.
Why do we need your help?
Nature Play SA is seeking event casuals to assist at our community events, workshops and conferences.
By working at one of our events, you will represent the organisation, offer practical support, gain experience and help us spread the word about our work.
What you will be doing?
This is an ‘as needed’ role and we will get in touch when there are opportunities available. Within the role you could do one, or all, of the following activities:
Attend major events, such as Nature Play SA Forest Festival, Cubbies by the Creek or our new smaller bespoke events.
Tasks may include, staffing the registration desk, carparking assistance, event cleaning, event bump in/out, leading or assisting an activity, and engaging with the participants.
You will become a part of the ‘face’ of Nature Play SA and will be able to share with others the importance of Nature Play SA.
We will contact you as and when events are scheduled to check your availability and ways in which you can be involved.
What skills/experience do I need?
• A warm and friendly manner in particular working with children
• A love for nature and conservation
• DCSI Working with Children Check
• National police clearance
• A Senior First Aid Certificate
• The ability to stand for a couple of hours at a time
• Confidence to interact with the public
• Flexibility to be called upon when needed
• An honest and trustworthy nature
How much of your time would we like?
This is a flexible and adhoc role. We would like you to attend 3-6 events across the year if you are able.
How will you be trained and supported?
• You will receive a full induction to Nature Play SA and to your role
• You will have a member of staff as a named contact who will support you and answer any queries
• You will be given any equipment necessary to carry out your role
Where will you will be based?
There will be opportunities to work at events in greater and metro Adelaide.
